We are seeking a proactive and dynamic Engagement Manager to lead our member engagement programme, delivering impactful events and compelling content to strengthen relationships and enhance communication with our audience and stakeholders.
The ideal candidate will be highly motivated, with excellent communication and relationship management skills, capable of fostering meaningful connections across business, academia, and government.
Salary: £45,000 p.a.

Job Purpose
The Engagement Manager, reporting to the Director of Programmes and Partnerships and working with the Chief Executive, will lead and deliver Cambridge Ahead’s member engagement programme, including events and bespoke sessions, continually looking for improved ways to provide direct value to our members.
The Engagement Manager will oversee and lead communication of our programme to members and external stakeholders, including social media, website and direct communications.
The Engagement Manager will also build strong relationships with equivalent roles in our membership, and key partners across the Cambridge ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities
- Shaping the framework for, and delivering, Cambridge Ahead events for members and key stakeholders (approx. 3 per year).
- Scoping other options for enhanced Member engagement, for example the potential for bespoke roundtables.
- Supporting the Chief Executive in direct engagement with existing and prospective Members.
- Creating communications content – such as social media posts, blogs, and newsletters – for Members and external stakeholders.
- Building relationships with engagement and communications leads across the Cambridge ecosystem.
Personal Specification and Skills
Essential
- Experience and expertise in stakeholder management – the ability to strategically plan stakeholder management for an organisation, as well as the ability to directly build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships
- Communications and marketing experience and expertise – communicating on behalf of a corporate organisation, in terms of developing communications and marketing material as well as personal communication skills
- Experience of planning and running corporate events to a high standard
- The ability to thrive in a fast paced and dynamic environment
- Excellent interpersonal skills and supportive behaviours
Desirable
- Experience of working across the public and private sectors – and understanding the complexities of these worlds
