Government announcement on expansive next chapter of Cambridge’s story

At Cambridge Ahead we have long championed the importance and contribution of our city region to the national economy.

Today's announcements signal a renewed recognition from Government of the importance of Cambridge to the UK and call out the significant investment that is needed into our region, particularly into physical and social infrastructure.

We look forward to Government and Peter Freeman now working closely with local leaders across the public and private sector to understand how these ambitions and investments are best realised for the benefit of the Cambridge city region and UK alike. Local leadership, with community and stakeholder input, is a vital component in delivering long-term economic growth that is sustainable and inclusive.
