The Cambridge Ahead Young Advisory Committee has been exploring how different housing tenures and products can effectively meet the needs of younger people living in one of the most expensive housing markets in the country.

A more diverse mix of housing will be fundamental to the city’s ability to attract and retain young people as its economy continues to grow. This article considers the role of smaller, and therefore more affordable, ownership or rental products in expanding the range of options available, particularly for single adults who would like an independent living space.
