Business leaders urged to share thoughts on how they see their organisations operating in the future following the Covid-19 pandemic

The Greater Cambridge Partnership wants to hear how the pandemic has affected how businesses operate, particularly looking at any changes to working practices and travel patterns. We want to hear how businesses have adapted and whether they plan to make any changes to working patterns in the longer-term.

This survey will help us understand the views of the Greater Cambridge business community and whether changes like more home working and flexible hours are here to stay. The responses will complement other work underway to understand the potential impacts of the pandemic on Greater Cambridge, and help the GCP target its investment to best support the region’s immediate and longer-term economic recovery.

Claire Ruskin, Greater Cambridge Partnership Executive Board member, said: “It’s obvious from our conversations with businesses and from closely monitoring transport data that the pandemic has had a huge impact on the way we work in Greater Cambridge.

“We want to understand from business leaders what you think this means for the future and if you’re planning to make changes to your business long-term. This will help us adapt and deliver our programme of investment so we can best support businesses and workers now and in the future.”

The survey, designed in collaboration with Cambridge Ahead and distributed by partners and business bodies, has been sent out to business leaders today.

The survey will take about 15 minutes to complete and the information will be analysed and used to help the GCP’s decision making moving forward. The survey is open for two weeks and will close on 11 October.

Jane Paterson-Todd, Chief Executive of Cambridge Ahead, said: “Understanding the current and future impact of changes in behaviour brought on by measures introduced during the pandemic is important in all aspects of how the economy is functioning. This will have implications on our transport network and the travel choices we make.

“To plan better it is important we gain early sight into these changes and Cambridge Ahead is keenly supportive of this research to help the GCP in adapting their plans and processes to meet future needs.”

If your business has not received the survey and would like to take part, email contactus@greatercambridge.org.uk and a survey will be sent out.
