What Every Business Should Know About Modern Slavery – 10th Aug
Every business, regardless of size or industry, will soon be affected by anti-slavery legislation. This workshop will help your organisation prepare for what lies ahead.
Large businesses are required by the UK Modern Slavery Act of 2015 to publish annual statements of their efforts to identify and address modern slavery risks in their organisation and supply chain. This relatively new business transparency and attention to human rights in supply chains is now trickling down to small to medium-sized businesses in the form of supplier codes of conduct, human rights risk assessments, supply chain audits, and legal contractual assurances. No business is immune–from finance to pharmaceuticals, technology to non-profit, to sales and manufacturing.
Join us for this workshop to learn what your business needs to do to get ahead of the curve in preparing for this new wave of laws and stakeholder requirements. We will help you understand: (1) what modern slavery is; (2) how it has become embedded in our global economy; and (3) the steps organisations must take to identify and mitigate its modern slavery impacts.
Space is limited so sign up soon. A light lunch will be provided so please let us know if you have any special dietary restrictions. The workshop style is relaxed and friendly, and there will be plenty of opportunity for Q & A.
